Well today we are going to reveal something which people try to inquire a lot of times but are not able to get a perfect answer for i.e. WhatsApp Business Model. What’s the revenue source for Whatsapp???

WhatsApp – A brief Intro: -
WhatsApp Messenger is a proprietary, cross-platform instant messaging application for smartphones. In addition to text messaging, users can send each other images, video, and audio media messages. The client software is available for Android, BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, iOS, Series 40,Symbian (S60), and Windows Phone. WhatsApp Inc. was founded in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, both veterans of Yahoo!, and is based in Santa Clara, California.
Business Model: -
There are two ways by which Whatsapp earns money
1. It is a subscription based service, wherein users have to pay a minimal subscription fees of 0.99 $ after aparticular period of time. On iOS platform, one has to purchase the application for 0.99$. 
Note: – Till date we haven’t heard from even a single person, that he/she paid a subscription fee to Whatsapp. Though people have purchased the application on iOS for 0.99$. Also many people say that whatsapp earns from in app advertisements which is a myth.
2. The most prominent and the hidden way for whatsapp to earn is BigData. 
Let us understand how? 
All of us are aware that whatever messages we send to our dear ones are being saved on Whatsapp servers. In those messages we express ouropinions, preferences, likes, dislikes anda lot of things. This unorganized data holds a lot of value for Big Companies.The marketers after sorting this data can make out for your preferences and offer you tailor made offerings. Makes a lot of sense to us.
So this is the most prominent way, unknown to most of us through which WhatsApp earns money.
Second reason i.e. Big Data is merely a speculation. It may be or may not be the revenue source as there is no proof which we could present to you for the same!
