Samsung’s First 8 GB LPDDR4 Mobile DRAM

Samsung recently unveiled its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3. With the launch of the latest product in the market, Samsung got attention with the 3 GB RAM in the device. Many people claimed that this much of RAM is not really required, Samsung believes more RAM can be needed.
Samsung tomorrow has unveiled the latest technology the company has been working on lately. Samsung has showed the first 8 gigabit low power DDR4 memory chip.
This next-generation LPDDR4 DRAM will contribute significantly to faster growth of the global mobile DRAM market, which will soon comprise the largest share of the entire DRAM market,” said Young-Hyun Jun, executive vice president, memory sales & marketing, Samsung Electronics. “We will continue introducing the most advanced mobile DRAM one step ahead of the rest of the industry so that global OEMs can launch innovative mobile devices with exceptional user convenience in the timeliest manner.”
The 8Gb LPDDR4 is fabricated on 20 nm class process technology, and offers 1 GB on a single die, which is the largest density available for DRAM components today, is what Samsung says. Whereas, Samsung’s new 8Gb LPDDR4 uses a Low Voltage Swing Terminated Logic I/O interface, the LPDDR4 chip will enable a data transfer rate per pin of 3,200 megabits per second (Mbps), which is twice that of the 20nm-class LPDDR3 DRAM.
With this new chip, Samsung will target the premium mobile market including large screen UHD smartphones, tablets and ultra-slim notebooks that offer four times the resolution of full-HD imaging. The mass production will start sometime in 2014.

Nokia entered the phablet segment of smart devices with two distinct products differentiated by their price tags. The premier Lumia 1520, which was accredited with bringing Windows Phone devices and Nokia in general, on par with their Androidtoting counterparts, in hardware aspect, at-least, launched a couple of weeks back in India for a price of Rs. 46,999. That sort of asking price is a hard sell in developing countries like India and China, no matter how good the specs offered, and this is where Nokia showed wisdom by introducing another 6 inch phablet, the Lumia 1320, at the same time with middling specs and a middling price to match.
And now, Nokia has made the very same device available in China for a sum of $340 or Rs. 21,000. What does that sort-of money land you hardware wide, the Lumia 1320 sports a 6 inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) at 245 ppi pixel density protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass 3. A Snapdragon 400 CPU featuring a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz and Adreno 305 GPU power those pixels on to the monstrous screen for your viewing pleasure. Imaging department is handled by a 5 megapixel primary camera assisted by an LED flash and a VGA front facing shooter is responsible for video calls. 1 GB of RAM included in the device should allow all the titles available over at the Windows Marketplace to play flawlessly on the device.
8 GB of internal storage can be expanded by a further 64 GB via a microSD card, in turn, allowing you to enjoy that screen with any media you can lay your hands upon. The device runs on Windows Phone 8 adorned with Nokia’s Lumia Black firmware out of the box, and is expected to get Windows Phone 8.1 when it launches in Spring 2014. A whopping big 3400 mAh battery pack should keep the device running for a straight 21 hours of 3G talk time, if you indulge in such marathon talking sessions.
Nokia is expected to launch the device in India early next year, but the exact price and availability are an unknown. We will be on-hand to provide all the details as and when they surface.

iOS jailbreak 7.1

I have been jailbreaking a lot of iPhone 4′s and 5′s for my friends over the past couple weeks or so. People are pretty excited about their iOS version 7′s, and they have figured out how much more they can get out of a jailbroken iPhone!  There’s a lot of information floating around “out there” on the net about jailbreaks, and I have been getting a lot of questions about what’s the best ios 7 jailbreak. I’ve been testing different iPhone 4 and 5 jailbreaks for iOS 7, 7.0.2, 7.0.3, 7.0.4, 7.1 since the beta version for developers came out – so I thought I would clue you guys in!

A Jailbreak IS available

A lot of people lately have claimed that there is not yet a jailbreak available for iPhone 4/s and 5/s/c running ios 7+, but this is a false claim. There is a jailbreak available for all the iOS 7′s. It just isn’t been released for free this time because of Apple’s tendency to fix the security issues that made the jailbreak possible in the first place. They tend not to notice so quickly if the jailbreak doesn’t become too popular too fast, so it has been a little difficult to find. That is why I have checked out the good and bad and come up with the best solutions for you.

What is jailbreaking?

Jailbreaking gives you a ton of new options on your iPhone. Before you jailbreak your phone, you only have access to the regular iTunes Apps store and all the apps that Apple approved. But after jailbreaking your iPhone, you have Cydia, a whole new app store where most of the best stuff is actually free. These apps are not approved by Apple because they’re very powerful, and can do things with your phone that regular phones are not “allowed to” (for example, you can record phone calls, or put double as many icons on the homepage etc etc). You can download screen savers, pictures, themes and ringtones. You can even make your iPhone look like an Android if you want!

Top ios 7.1 jailbreaks for iPhone 4/s and iPhone 5/s/c

The jailbreaks I will talk about in a moment are easy to use, and even if you make a mistake you don’t have to worry because have a support team to help you if you get confused, which isn’t likely. You almost have to try to mess this thing up, even if you aren’t tech savvy.
One more thing, and this is important. I really recommend that you do not ever  try to hack your phone by yourself, with some of the software hackers online use. Unless you are a hacker, you don’t know what you’re doing and you are putting your phone at risk of being bricked.
That means you may lose all of your apps, contacts, history, everything… I have done it before and it only took one time for me to learn my lesson, and what an expensive lesson it was! Always use trusted software solutions.

#1 iJailbreak Pro (editor’s best choice for iOS 7 – 7.1 Jailbreak for iPhone 4′s and iPhone 5′s!)

I recently came across these guys and they have impressed me from day one! Of all of the jailbreaks I have done, this has absolutely been my favorite software to use. Not to mentions these guys are the only ones I have seen who have the kahoonas to advertise the iOS 7 jailbreak on their sales page. They must be pretty confident that it works! The other guys are too scared of their stuff not really working out too well and pressure from Apple. Oh well.
I have used these guys quite a few times with the iOS 7 betas. I have never had a jailbreak take longer than 5 minutes to complete. Plus they have a 30 day, no questions asked, money back guarantee, so you really don’t have to risk anything. If for any reason you are unsatisfied, you can always go back to factory settings without any problem.
When you do the jailbreak, you also get unlock included in the price. Now that is something I haven’t seen elsewhere! Most of the time you get one or the other. Unlocking, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, means that you can use any carrier you want, as long as you get a sim card, and you don’t have to deal with contracts.
Customer support definitely deserves mentioning here. I talked to the guy who runs the site, and I could tell he really cares and isn’t in it just for the money. He really wants to help people get the most out of their iPhones. He gave me a lot of good advice and took the time to tell me a lot of little extra things that I didn’t know about, for which I was very grateful.
I give them a 10 out of 10! The jailbreak is very fast, the customer support is fantastic and the price is very reasonable

#2 Apple Unlocker

It has been a while since I have done a jailbreak using these guys. They aren’t too bad, but iJailbreak Pro is a lot better so I go with them. Apple Unlocker used to be my favorite, though, so I know the software does work. But it takes a bit longer. I have waited around 20 minutes for a jailbreak to complete a couple of times.
One word of warning if you do use this site, customer support isn’t too great. I have had to contact them a couple of times and because they have no phone number listed I had to contact them through email. It took them almost a full 24 hours to get back to me. That means I missed texts, calls, and couldn’t do anything else with my phone for that entire time. I wasn’t pleased.
They are decently priced, but they don’t offer all the little extras that come with iJailbreak Pro, so I would really only backtrack to these guys if the iJailbreak Pro site were down or otherwise unavailable.
I give them a 7 out of 10. Their software does what it is supposed to do but they really need to be more efficient with jailbreak times and customer support. Check out their site here.

#3 iJailbreak Tool

Alright. The other two options are much, much better than this one. As a matter-of-fact, I actually only recommend iJailbreak Tool as a last resort, because it is better than trying to use the hacker guides I warned you about earlier. Other than that, you will find endless frustration with this site.
Customer support is the worst. They do have a phone number listed, but it is in India, so good luck with that unless you have an awesome calling plan or feel like paying an outrageous phone bill. They have an email option, but it takes a few hours for them to get back to you, and even then it is hard to understand what they are saying because of the lack of native English communication skills.
The instructions they provide are the same way- written by non native English speakers. So they are nearly impossible to get through. Very frustrating!
Then there is the time… It takes nearly 30 minutes to do the jailbreak. Every. Single. Time. Ugh! I am not a patient person. Period. So this is even worse for me than trying to navigate the instructions.
I give these guys a 5 out of 10, just because I know the software works. Other than that, though, avoid the headache if possible. Check them out here.

To sum it up

All in all my favorite iOS 7+ jailbreak solution for iPhone 4′s and 5′s is iJailbreak Pro. Check them out and buy with confidence.
You can use the other 2 and get a jailbreak without compromising your phone. However, you will get slower jailbreak time and customer support isn’t as reliable.
Either way, good luck and enjoy! I hope this article helps  :)

whatsapp business model

Well today we are going to reveal something which people try to inquire a lot of times but are not able to get a perfect answer for i.e. WhatsApp Business Model. What’s the revenue source for Whatsapp???

WhatsApp – A brief Intro: -
WhatsApp Messenger is a proprietary, cross-platform instant messaging application for smartphones. In addition to text messaging, users can send each other images, video, and audio media messages. The client software is available for Android, BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, iOS, Series 40,Symbian (S60), and Windows Phone. WhatsApp Inc. was founded in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, both veterans of Yahoo!, and is based in Santa Clara, California.
Business Model: -
There are two ways by which Whatsapp earns money
1. It is a subscription based service, wherein users have to pay a minimal subscription fees of 0.99 $ after aparticular period of time. On iOS platform, one has to purchase the application for 0.99$.
Note: – Till date we haven’t heard from even a single person, that he/she paid a subscription fee to Whatsapp. Though people have purchased the application on iOS for 0.99$. Also many people say that whatsapp earns from in app advertisements which is a myth.
2. The most prominent and the hidden way for whatsapp to earn is BigData.
Let us understand how?
All of us are aware that whatever messages we send to our dear ones are being saved on Whatsapp servers. In those messages we express ouropinions, preferences, likes, dislikes anda lot of things. This unorganized data holds a lot of value for Big Companies. The marketers after sorting this data can make out for your preferences and offer you tailor made offerings. Makes a lot of sense to us.
So this is the most prominent way, unknown to most of us through which WhatsApp earns money.
Second reason i.e. Big Data is merely a speculation. It may be or may not be the revenue source as there is no proof which we could present to you for the same!
Feel free to ask any questions if you have in our comments section below.

REASON WHY NOKIA ADOPTED WINDOWS OVER ANDROID

reason

In the hyper-competitive market when everyone was hushing for android, someone was silently observing and thinking What’s gonna be the future?  Somebody knew what’s going to happen.
The possible reason for Nokia adopting windows platform and not android is
  • Samsung was powerful and had the first mover advantage to adopt the pioneers software. They were doing pretty well, better than iOS (some say) but others were getting ready to take the share of pie.
  • Soon Samsung was joined by HTC, Micromax, Sony, Acer and many more. Hyper competition and bombarding the consumers with new products every other day
Nokia was silently observing the ploy, it knew that there can only be one winner and Samsung was clearly thrashing every other competitor with Android in the market. So entering into the already crowded market didn’t make sense. Differentiation is an essential component of successful business be it any sector. Today out of every 10 random smartphones 8 are running on Android says a new study.
Nokia almost vanished like blackberry’s present condition. So Nokia had one vision, when every other operating system is taking a beating in the market, there was someone promising which entered into the Arena – Windows. The name is big when we talk about Microsoft. A symbol of delivering excellence. So Nokia saw the opportunity and knew that it could be looked upon as the alternative to the existing champions i.e. iOS and Android. And the bold step was taken yet again by Nokia.
The gamble worked in their favor with Nokia Lumia 520 as the best selling phone in the market. They have started gaining market share in the lower end segment. But the higher end segment is still captured by the winners of yesterday, i.e. Samsung and Apple.
Nokia’s vision of being looked as an alternative to iOS and android is turning out to be somewhat sensible. Lets see how will Nokia tap the higher end segment.

Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter: How many private messaging apps are too many?

Now, Instagram has thrown its hat into the private messaging ring. Being able to share images and videos to select people is seen as the logical step towards growth for the app. While it does seem like a great idea, Instagram is going head-to-head with the likes of Snapchat and Twitter, not to mention hordes of cross-platform messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Line, Kik and WeChat. Does Instagram Direct have what it takes to win the race? Or is it a case of one too many cooks?

The new addition to the app will let Android and iOS users – sorry Windows Phone lovers – send images and videos privately to a maximum of 15 contacts. Essentially, you now have a public feed and a private messaging inbox. Reminds you of something?

Facebook, Instagram’s parent company and currently the reigning ruler of all things social network, too has the ability to send text, videos and images to your friends. However, it’s called Chat. And that is clearly not cool enough for its audiences to use regularly as a private messaging service. So here's Instagram Direct.

-->

When you take a step back and examine this private messaging phenomenon, it looks a little odd really. You already had social networks that let you maintain a public feed and gave you an inbox for your private gossip and funny pictures.

And then Snapchat changed things a bit. Images shared through Snapchat could only be seen for about 10 seconds, before it got deleted automatically. Apparently, self-destructing images are cool, because the app has taken off and how. Facebook tried to ape Snapchat’s success with a much-hyped app called Poke. Sadly enough, just like it has all but disappeared from the main website, the app too sank without a trace. Compounding problems for Facebook were teenagers walking away from the platform to adopt other apps and services in large numbers. Studies showed Snapchat was one of the beneficiaries of this exodus, thanks to the fact you could send racy pictures without worrying about them being stored server-side. Recent numbers have shown that the number of snaps sent daily are far higher than the number of images uploaded on Facebook daily.

Facebook did indeed try to up its game, not by adding a bevy of features to its product, but by attempting to buy out Snapchat outright. The company offered Snapchat $3 million to come home with it, even as Google one-upped the offer by another million dollars. Snapchat, however, having a whiff of its popularity, refused to give in and decided to remain unsold. It isn’t hard to imagine then, Facebook using Instagram to fight a proxy battle for it. What Instagram says is “catch up”, is Facebook's way of biting into the private image messaging apple.

When Instagram launched its video feature a few months ago, it brought the fight to Vine with 15-second videos with effects. What made it work was the fact that it had a whopping 150 million strong user base waiting to lap up the video feature. Direct is expected to be a similar hit on Instagram, owing to that very strong user base.

Earlier this week, Twitter too jumped into the fray with a small, but noticeable tweak to its service. For the first time ever, Twitter armed Direct Messages with the ability to send and view images privately. Sending and receiving DMs has been an integral part of the Twitter experience for most power users on the website. The joke goes that real tweets are not found on timelines but in the DMs. The feature too shares the peculiarity of having a restriction. Besides the photo, you can add only 140 characters to your message while passing them on to your friend.

What makes this even more pointless is that the newest entrants, Twitter and Instagram, are not just going up against Snapchat, but also cross-platform messaging apps. The original apps, the likes of WhatsApp, WeChat, Viber and Kik, are still the first ones that come to your mind when you want to fire off an image to your friend. Surely, you will not want to sext with such cross-platform messengers, which unlike Snapchat, do actually store some info on their servers. But would you want to send out racy pictures with filters on Instagram Direct, with the possibility of Facebook watching?

Another farce is that essentially all these apps are turning into the same product. Facebook and Instagram both started out with having public streams and then added private ones. So did Twitter. Snapchat started out as a pure play private-sharing app but added a public stream called Stories later. WeChat, mainly functions as a way for users to send private messages, silly stickers and voice recordings to friends, but also has a social networking aspect.

It has turned into a me-too game. There may be a whole bunch of hybrid social-private apps on your favourite app store, but how many do you really need to talk to the same ten-odd friends you talk to on a regular basis?

Best laptops under Rs 39,999

We’ve already had a look at powerhouse notebooks that won our approval this year, but they all come at a cost. Sometimes all you are looking for is a workhorse that won’t break the bank. Thankfully, there were a lot of those this year as Windows 8 finally came to budget PCs. Here are our picks for thebest sub Rs 39,999 laptops of 2013.

We had reviewed this VivoBook earlier in the year and found it to be worthy of a high score and even a Value For Money badge. At a price of under Rs 39,999, the F202E certainly justifies that tag considering its build quality, dense touchscreen display and adequate performance for everyday tasks. It’s not a blazing laptop by any means, but if you are looking an entry-level ultraportable Windows 8 notebook with a touchscreen, you can’t go wrong with this one.

2nd place: Dell Inspiron 15 3537
This one is slightly out of the left-field, as it’s not a Windows PC. Instead the 3537 runs Ubuntu, which is the most popular Linux distro in the world. This helps in keep the price low and while the official tag is over Rs 39,999, you are likely to find it for lesser in the market. It features Haswell (Core i5 clocked at 2.6GHz) internals, a massive 6GB of RAM, a healthy 750GB HDD and runs Ubuntu 12.04, a slightly older version of the OS, that can be updated using the in-built update manager. Predictably the display is a 15.6-incher with a 1366 x 768 resolution, but we didn’t expect a full HD display at this price anyway.

3rd place: HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n021TU
Another touchscreen laptop for under Rs 39,999, the TouchSmart 15-n021TU looks stylish enough to pass off for a more expensive machine. With a Intel Core i3 3217U processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB HDD and a 15.6-inch display, this notebook has enough oomph for productivity tasks, basic gaming and multimedia viewing. It also runs Windows 8, so at least you are assured of an 8.1 update when you unbox it.

Found a laptop that fits the bill but was overlooked by us. Let us know why we should have picked it.

What Is Hacker?

In computer networking, hacking is any technical effort to manipulate the normal behavior of network connections and connected systems. A hacker is any person engaged in hacking. The term "hacking" historically referred to constructive, clever technical work that was not necessarily related to computer systems. Today, however, hacking and hackers are most commonly associated with malicious programming attacks on the Internet and other networks.

Origins of Hacking

M.I.T. engineers in the 1950s and 1960s first popularized the term and concept of hacking. Starting at the model train club and later in the mainframe computer rooms, the so-called "hacks" perpetrated by these hackers were intended to be harmless technical experiments and fun learning activities.

>>>
Later, outside of M.I.T., others began applying the term to less honorable pursuits. Before the Internet became popular, for example, several hackers in the U.S. experimented with methods to modify telephones for making free long-distance calls over the phone networkillegally.
As computer networking and the Internet exploded in popularity, data networks became by far the most common target of hackers and hacking.

Hacking vs. Cracking

Malicious attacks on computer networks are officially known as cracking, while hacking truly applies only to activities having good intentions. Most non-technical people fail to make this distinction, however. Outside of academia, its extremely common to see the term "hack" misused and be applied to cracks as well.

Common Network Hacking Techniques

Hacking on computer networking is often done through scripts or other network programming. These programsgenerally manipulate data passing through a network connection in ways designed to obtain more information about how the target system works. Many such pre-packaged scripts are posted on the Internet for anyone, typically entry-level hackers, to use. More advanced hackers may study and modify these scripts to develop new methods. A few highly skilled hackers work for commercial firms with the job to protect that company's software and data from outside hacking.
Cracking techniques on networks include creating worms, initiating denial of service (DoS)attacks, or in establishing unauthorized remote access connections to a device.
